About Us

Neasby-Sapp Farm began in 2018. Generational ties to Wright County through the Hightower and Robertson roots made Grovespring, Missouri the right place for us to begin Neasby-Sapp Farm. Our great-great-grand parents farmed, lived and went to school just miles from the farm. We like to say this is where it all started and couldn’t be more proud to be here in the Ozarks.

As we reflect back on our start, we purchased our first three steers that summer… just for fun! We named the three steers “Juicy”, “Brr”, and “Grr”. Funny names, right? Those first three steers began the tradition of naming our cows with a FIRST, MIDDLE and LAST NAME, (Edna Mae, Myrtle Eileen, Dorothy Jo, Bennett Edward…). Don’t miss our Gallery section on the herd. You’re going to love the names and we just bet you probably had an aunt with a name of one of our ladies.

Many cattlemen are unaware there is a registered breed of Black Herefords. The breed began as a cross of registered black angus and red Herefords. The black hided first generation (F1) cows were then bred back to the Herefords to provide a pure bred (88%) Black Hereford. The American Black Hereford Association (ABHA) was begun in 1994, blackhereford.org”. With available DNA testing, homozygous black animals can be identified which will always have black offspring, even if bred to red or mixed herds. In addition to our registered cattle we raise some premium first generation Black Baldies which are all sired by our registered ABHA approved herd sire. If you are looking for a bull or replacement heifers check out our “For Sale” page, or call Randy.
